Standing in line for consumer goods. In this case I believe it was shampoo from Bulgaria. At the time, anything produced in a Communistic-bloc country besides USSR was highly sought after.

This is nothing comparing to the supermarket lines: those were really huge and the people were engaging in fist fights over food!

I like the way you captured the overall mood. Do you know there was a Wash Post journo Hedric Smith who wrote a book THe Russians back in early 80s, with the first chapter named "The art of queueing"?

i know this scene of life in Romania, i am glad of now it's finish! but there are a lot products but peolple arent money for buy!!!

Seriously I did not realize you actually posted stuff. I think this is a cool photo. Teh perspective and tilt are very nice. I like how the line snakes and is colorful in contrast to the stark communist buildings. Very nice. JP

The picture would be funny if we if forgot about history. faubry is right saying ther's a lot to buy and little to buy with. The perspective is good, especially because of the tilt. Blur makes the photo old anf airy.
