Photographer's Note

For getting from the Baksan River valley (more precisely, from Upper Baksan Village) to the Malka River valley, where warm Narzan sources are located, it is needed to mount two high saddles, Kirtikaush (3232 m) and another one (2889 m). This picture was taking from the first of them.

The flowers in the foreground is called as crocuses by the most of tourists and mountaineers, but as Paolo Luigi absolutely correctly noticed, they actually are gentianas. There are plenty of them at the altitudes more than 2500 m above sea level.

GPS coordinates: 43.39391 Lat, 42.631844 Long, 3232 m
