A MEETING WITH ARCHITECTS, a photo from Saint Petersburg, Northwest

Photographer's Note

I walked around in some areas of Saint Petersburg, trying to explore places I didn't know.
I crossed Neva River and visited Aleksandrovsky Park, located behind an island and its old fort.
This park is big and has the zoo, opera, museums, gardens and many sculptures and monuments.
There are many miniatures in bronze showing the main buildings of the city and few meters ahead there is this monument where the artist pays homage to the architects who created the city. Curiously he found an image of one of these architects in the Wikipedia and did the sculpture, but this architect had the same name of an scientist and the sculptor did a wrong portrait. Some meters ahead there was a monument art-nouveau paying homage to the sailors who sunk their boat in the war against Japan, avoiding the enemy used it, they died doing that..

Caminhei por algumas áreas de de Săo Petersburgo, tentando ver partes que eu ainda năo conhecia.
Atravessei o Rio Neva e cheguei ao Parque Aleksandrovsky, que fica atrás de uma ilha e seu velho forte. Ali está o zoológico da cidade, a ópera e muitos museus, jardins e esculturas.
Aqui vemos um monumento em homenagem aos arquitetos que construíram a cidade, próximo a ele havia uma série de miniaturas em bronze mostrando os mais famosos prédios da cidade.
Curiosamente o escultor que fez essas estátuas procurou na Wikipedia a foto de cada arquiteto, porém, um deles tinha o mesmo nome de um cientista e o escultor retratou o personagem errado.
Poucos metros adiante estava um monumento em estilo art-nouveau que homenageava os marinheiros que afundaram seu barco na guerra contra o Japăo na tentativa de evitar que o inimigo se apossasse da embarcaçăo, eles morreram fazendo isso.

Hello Jorge,
I have seen many sculptures of this style in what used to be referred to as "Eastern Europe", but rarely at such a large scale. It's an interesting group in a fine location. The posing woman enlivened the view and provided you with a good photo. I might have cropped a slice to the left to get rid of her husband's arm.

Interesting scene in the park. The number of characters is impressive.
Good framing, colors and light.
The girl add flavor to this picture.

Hello Jorge,

From the thumbnail, this seemed like a group of real people. It is an ambitious and very interesting set of sculptures, very clearly captured in your photograph, though I think it would have been judicious to crop the offending elbow!
I wonder how many tourists have seated themselves on that empty chair! Maybe they would would feel they are interrupting a private discussion!

Eu já vi umas tres esculturas juntas em BH na Pampulha mas estes aqui bateram o recorde. Com mesa e cadeiras também. Muito bem feitas. Beleza de foto e registro.

Una maravilla de imagen, con este grupo escultorico en bronce tan sensacional, muchas figuras estupendamente realizadas y representando muy bien su epoca, lastima del chico que entro en tu campo de vision, pero ese poco brazo que se ve a la izquierda lo podias haber recortado.
Estupendo color que resalta la belleza de la imagen.
Muy bien gestionada tanto la luminosidad como la nitidez, de la imagen.
Un bonito trabajo. Que disfrutamos.
