Photographer's Note
Singapore does have lots of "stray" cats. Although "stray, they are well looked after by people who take the trouble to feed them on a regular basis. Some people spend hundreds of $ just on feeding strays. No kidding! So the next time you pass through Singapore and see a "stray" cat, dont feel sorry for it knowing it it is probably have a good and relaxing life.
In the background are typical old Peranakan houses that was popular in the early 1900s. Today, there are not too many left, with most of us staying in highrise apartments.

That an amazing shot John, fantaztic pose you got from the cat. I supppose you had to feed it to get it to do that.

Fantastic shot, John. My wife and I are cat lvers and this pic is the GREATEST. Superb timing but also a very nice "baba" background, with those old shop houses.
Congrats!

I'm not particularly fond of cats, but this one is a winner. You've got him in a great pose, and your point of view favours the interest of the composition. The facades are the cherry on top of the cake, setting the architectural environment and teaching us about a particular, almost gone, aspect of the local culture.

Great find, John - very nice posing and attitude you captured in this stray cat. What makes the photo unique is of course the steep upward angle along the ornate façade of the old buildings. Well done.

Hello John,
Great shot of this yawning cat (you could also have posted it in the "Decisive Moment" category). Your POV, from below, makes a very interesting pesrpective and the buildings in the back are very colorful and are nicely decorated. Thanks for making me laugh!

What an attitude. I not much for pet pictures but here you have both architecture and attitude too. The low angle works great here but I specially like how the tail and cat makes almost a half diagonal through the picture.
