Photographer's Note

to exit the aquarium in coex mall, people have to go up a blue escalator. the lights are blue, the walls are blue, everything's blue!

i got this shot on the way up. i was pretty rushed because the escalator was short.

it's no coincidence that there's a girl on the escalator. at the last minute i stayed back a few steps to let her get a good distance ahead of me so i could include her in the shot and block out the yellow lights on the other side.

she was a willing subject ... photographers' wives usually are!! ;)

Wow! This blue is magic I love it! The texture of the wall is well captured, so as the aquarium atmosphere. I feel like a fish stuck in a streamline with other pals as mrs in front of me ;o)

A very nicely taken and presented image David - the light handling and DOF are great - important I think to show this distant detail and not colour - the definition of the person is good too - I would have played with not showing the light at the top I think - interesting that you choe to include it - I guess to achieve the full arch effect.

Hi David. I like this shot quite a lot. The blue color really carries it for me. I kina wished it was taken with a wider angle lens, but I am guessing you were as wide as you could go. Using her to block out the light at the end worked; the mismatch in white balances would have hurt the photo.

Hi David,
Nice monochrome Mr Klein. There's an amazing subaquatic atmosphere in this shot. I love it. I'm just a little bit bothered by the reflection of the man in the glass. Nevertheless it's a great shot.

An intersting shot. Nice cool blue light and it is well exposed. I actually really like the tow differtn lights the warm and the cold in one shot makes a nice contrast. Would have been nice to have a wider angle though.

Thats a funky, deep blue. The thumbnail really pops here. Lovely compo, and if its your wife, more power to ya, you used her in an artistic way and no one could say anything about that. Really cool and strange.

Starting from the vignette a very strong blue appeal, then a very good perspective leading up to the dolinade, I also like the warm colored and contrasting zone we can feel behind.
I'm not quite sure I can adhere to your last statement, experience inside ;-)

Waouhhh, excellent atmosphčre, l'ambiance est terrible.
J'adore ce bleu et cette lumičre chaude dans le fond qui contraste avec cet ensemble froid.
Les différents tons de bleus dans cette voute donne un sacré effet.

my wife hates when I start to take pictures of, though she has taken a few good ones of me... back to your shot, feels like Picasso's blue period with a hint of warmth in the background (a little blabbler here)...

Really groovy shot here, love the shades of blue which the walls give off. Theres a couple of imperfections about this shot, such as the shops in the background...but still a good photo.

But then, i read your note and we learn a lot: your wife does not wear socks with her sneakers!

What a monochromatic capture, was that blue as overwhelming in the real? In any case, good decisions made on your part to get the effect you wanted.

blue blue everywhere, let's all squint our eyes... interesting pov, coming into the 'light' as such... the various blue hues are very interesting too, giving it some depth... nice job
