An Evening Out, a photo from Gyeongsangnamdo, South

Photographer's Note

Photography is about learning. Time and time again I question what I do, seek help and try and get the types of photos that I want. An evening out with a good friend, I learned a lot about the dynamic range of photos and how to take shots in different ways. It may not be expressed completely in this shot but I did learn a lot from this evening out.

+++ for the general view, colors, compo, and long expo..
--- for the moon, the compo, to me, would have been much better without it..

i don't agree with donluicu : the moon is a the wright place for me. photo is always subjective !

Hi Jason, this is a good and successfull try. I guess your shutter speed was about 20 or 30 sec. That has for effect this beautiful "frozen" sea, colors are baeutiful too, perhaps a little bit too orange but i really like it.
I disagree in a way with donluici, i think the moon brings something good in the compo, something in up left part, but i would have suggest you use at least F18 stop in order to have "star effect" on light spots ... just a suggestion

I like this one dude. The water looks like silk. Long exposure. The colours are great, very soft and warm. If it wasn't for those two tiny little clouds in the sky I'd say the sky was perfect. I think because they're so small, they almost seem like specks on the camera. Maybe removing those would give the moon a nicer look. Dunno. Suggestions.

Jason, I mulled this over a while and between the two shots I like this one the best. I think the bridge does more for the fore ground than the reflection and I think that this shot shows the density of the housing structure better. Nice job.
