Taiwan has been especially hard hit by the SARS virus. Many people are curtailing their daily activities, and even when they do venture out, they are cautious. Masks are everywhere. Lungshan Temple, Taipei.

Vibrant colors and realistic document the fear of SARS makes this shot really great...Just looking at the eyes of the two young women one can see the fear and the hope...

Nice shot, Darren. I like their facial expressions. Very well photographed. I like that the red of the girls shirts don't blend into the background which is also red. Small thing, but makes a huge difference. Well done!

Excellent shot Darren. I curtailed my daily activities while I was in Singapore for the month of March because of SARs. It's pretty scarry stuff.

Having the women in red outfits framed in the background by the red-trimmed doors is really great. Very informative documentary shot as well about life during SARS times.

even with the blown out foreheads this is a nice shot. i like the way the poses echo each other and even the clothes and masks are similiar. i might crop a hair behind on the right so that that line which makes the shot look a bit tilted isn't included in the photo.

This is a very nice shot and good document. First because it's perfect framed and composed, and the red color make the scene very intense, then the masks symbolize perfectly this big problem in the world for the year 2003: the terrible SARS.

My wife lived in Hong Kong for a year and a half, and she noted the tendency to wear these masks if one was ill. I think this is an engaging photograph that shows the "life must go on" aspects of living with any crisis.
