Devotion in the Time of SARS -III-, a photo from Taipei, North

Photographer's Note

This is the third shot I have submitted showing people worshipping while wearing masks in the hope of preventing SARS. In this photo, I like the fact that the woman is wearing her mask so high on her face that she is almost totally covered. The fear rages on here in Taiwan.

Taken today at Bo-An Temple in Taipei.

Oh, WOW, that's a great picture Darren...
The background is tremendous, the colors are playing and echoing together : black and beige for the background and the character's clothes, faded red for a small piece of the background and a part of the incense sticks.
Sharpness and DOF are spot on.

You like taking shots from the side I see. Well, what can I say: perfect. Every little bit of the image is where it's supposed to be. Your subject is perfectly framed, the colors work wonders here, sharpness is spot on...again, perfect, couldn't be better. This one is one of your best, Darren.

What a beautiful presence. Posture is very elegant, specially arms and hands holding the incense sticks. Beautiful tones, shades on the skin are superb. Every photographic aspect is a masterpiece. Wonderful!!!

great shot man ! i prefear a little more light in the background showing the dragon (i think it's a dragon) but probabbly you like dark background and more light on the subject. by the way nice shot, +Fav

Hi Darren, I browsed all of your pictures and found that those are wonderfully composed. This one is very sharp and in focus. You have great control on your camera and your sharp eyes on subjects you are capturing. Very meaningful one. Wonderful work. Sothy
