In Central-Asian countries open markets are very popular. They sell almost everything from food through cloths, shoes, home items even home animals. People like this kind of shopping because can bargain to get better price. As in most Arab countries also in Tajikistan is a ritual for buying items at the markets.

Bonjour Zbigniew,

Du plus loin que je me souvienne, j'ai toujours aimé les marchés. Un des seuls endroits au monde oů on peut communiquer avec des étrangers. Celui-ci semble bien joyeux et coloré.

Hi, Zbigniew,
I have never been in this former Soviet republic. although I have a lot of familiar people there. Thanks for so interesting presentation of Tajikistan. Yep, but their language is not Arab, they have some common bases with Hindu language etc.
Anyway, excellent report!

There aren't many photographs from this area but you have shown us a colourful and friendly outdoor market. It is immediately attractive ... we all like to browse for a bargain and these products look delicious!
I like how you have anchored the scene with bread/cakes to create a fine sense of depth to the other stalls. The inclusion of the figures animates the scene, as you would expect in a market.

It's always nice to see pictures of outdoor markets. And fruit stalls are among the most colourful themes. Lvely view full of local ambience. Fun to see at least three different kinds of banana boxes there.
