Photographer's Note

Wat Pho temple in Bangkok is home to the Reclining Buddha - a 150 foot long masterpiece. But on the temple grounds you'll also find a ring of four 138 foot-tall tile-covered Chedis - towers commemorating the first four kings of Thailand, Rama I through Rama IV.

The tile work and color theme is different for each tower and, on a sunny day they are absolutely spectacular.

Okay, you ask, "what's a chedi?" That's an alternative name for a Stupa (sometimes called a pagoda), a structure containing relics, used as a place of meditation.
