Photographer's Note

The Indian culture is very exquisite. Architecture, festivals and daily life manifest the rich and vibrant Indian culture.

But I must say that the way the Indian women dress up embodies the exquisite aspect of the Indian culture. The colors and patterns of the fabric, the jewelries that adorn their body...they are a sight to behold.

I was lucky to have this beautiful student pose for me. Her name is Jooi, a senior student in our school. I am posting this to follow up my BW post last time. Here, you can feast your eyes on the colors.

Taken with my 16 mm macro, f 2.8 lens. Colors were adjusted in Photoshop.

The composition is very interesting. The texture of her skin looks very soft, and you achieved to give her a very captivating glance. How did you treat the colours in PS ?

this seems to be a perfect portrait to me :p i also like the way you framed this picture -without the top part of the girl's head, i think that helps us to focus more onto her face. and the colors are trully excellent. TFS.

This has to be one of the most outstanding portraits i've seen on TE to date (along with "Everywhere" and "EYE"). The colours are superb, and give a real sense of warmth and character to the picture. The focus is also superb (the beads on the girl's knuckles), but the colouration seems to add a softening effect to the whole composition. But the eyes, the eyes, those piercing, powerful, dark eyes. Fantastic.

Very beautiful photo! I like the way you subdued the light in the background and show only the light on the veil and face of your model. Your post processing is very clean specially the one on the right cheek and hand. Very well done.

she has a skin texture like some of these old dolls (porcelaine in french, not sure what the word is in english), given this picture a special feeling. Possily due to the PP?

this is a gorgeous portrait, even better that the b'n'w version. Why? Well for one in this image you can see both the hands, and also the intese dark red colour of her scarf really bring out her skin tone.

thanks for answering to my curiousity regarding the colours of the scarf... finally, I can't decide if i prefer the color shot or the b&w.
Both are incredible. the look of the girl is not less intense than in the b&w picture of the other day. I thought it would be.

Hello, What an exquisite portrait! It has the feel of an old masters painting. Usually the tendency is to capture a portrait in an upright or vertical manner, but here as an artist you have chosen a horizontal frame. By placing the subject in the upper right corner of the frame, you have left room for the viewer to focus on her hands and clothing and the richness of the scene. Inspiring.
