This is the symbol of one of the most significant events in Turkmenistan - Day of Declaration of Independence on October 27, 1991. You can find it at the highest point of the southern part of National Park of Independence in Ashgabat. The height of this structure is 118 m. This figure has a symbolical meaning and is dated for a historical event expressed in the sum of two data 27 (October) + 91 (year) =118. At the height of 91 m the main view platform is located. The monument represents not only an architectural symbol, but also is acting like a museum and is closely connected with the history of the past and today's Turkmenistan. That is why the main remarkable sights of the Monument are sculptures of the great historical public figures of the state, among them, the First President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Turkmenbashy.

Ciao, Attila,
Everything and everybody looks very austere in this image. Love the way the two guards are keeping the same posture as the two statues. Another excellent addition to your gallery.
Cheers,

Hi Attila.
Thank you for another perfect share of this unknown place for me. Excelent composition, with the spire matching the monument at the back. I wish if you climbed up to that monument to take a broader picture of the town.
have a nice weekend, Aleks

Hi Attila,
A great POV in this framing vertical that has a really splendid depth and a perspective.
The statues to a side, detailed well and dominating a part of the image, and the so high and pretty monument, with its details and their golden statue, they form a good composition, very graphical and linear.
Good resistance also between both guardian-statue and both human guardians on the foot of the monument.
Good photo with nice geometry, well illuminated and beautiful colors.
Regards,
Josep

Hi Attila,
Another nice view of this rare place, I like here your composition idea using the guards to lead the eye to the monument and statue, this being enhanced by the leading pavement lines.
Have a nice week end,

Hi Szili
This is a striking monument. Well framed with excellent colouring. I also like the sharpness and overall detail of the shot. Good framing and a nice arrangement of the elements to include the statues in the foreground as contrast. Well done.

Ciao!! e buona domenica

Hi
Since you left a note in your intro about the vacations, I was wondering about the destination. I was right that you're gonna surprise me - I was rather thinking of some country in Africa.
With an interesting note the picture sends a fantastic piece of info about this country. Great job with composing this photo.
Take care

Nice framing and wonderful capture of colour with very good note. I also like the choice of the frame/border. Perfect exposer. Are the two men standing just under the statue real?

Impressive shot, Attila. Perfectly framed.
This composition certainly symbolizes how our past dominates our present - with the soldiers being dwarfed my the scultures.
Your 'gold' frame helps to bring out the colours in the photo.
Well seen.

Szia Attila!

Szia Attila!
Gigantikus giccs!
