Hoi An, the UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in Quang Nam province, was one of the busiest ports in
Vietnam from 17th to 19th century, when it was home to thriving population of Japanese and Chinese merchants and later the French. This mixed cultural heritage can be seen today in the town's architecture, a blend of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and French influences. Set in a quiet environment, Hoi An is surrounded by peaceful villages, a beautiful river and white sandy beaches.

Japanese Covered Bridge, the symbol of Hoi An. It was built in the 17th century and used to link the quarters inhabited by the Chinese and Japanese communities, the only covered bridge ouside Japan. There is a small temple inside and on both ends of the bridge there are altars with its guardians. On one end there are two monkeys and on the other two dogs. It is said that the construction of the bridge was started in the year of the monkey and finished in the year of the dog..
