Pig's ears, a photo from Ho Chi Minh, South East

Photographer's Note

A woman who specialises in selling offal (including pig's ears) can be seen in the Ben Thanh markets in Ho Chi Minh City.

The Ben Thanh markets first opened in 1914. Today its narrow aisles are full of people clamouring to sell you all manner of souvenir items - T-shirts and aluminum, silk, bamboo, and lacquer wares. Also there is plenty for the Saigonese - vegetables, spices, sweets, clothing, hardware, flowers and offal.

No - I did not buy any pig's ears!

I've never seen pigs ears in a shop but I remember it as an excellent tapa in Spain.
Beautiful and interesting daily life-picture.
The woman looks like more ears just have been delivered in front of her :)
