Hello Marlene,

All poised to launch, I like this shot very much. You've timed it well. I'm also happy to see them all wearing helmets. A generation ago, perhaps even 10 years ago, these motorscooters would have been mostly bicycles.

Hello Marlene,
I only see one passenger breaking the law on helmets, and maybe also the nearest woman. I would be slightly nervous crossing the street at this moment, thinking that as soon as they get their green light they will all start with a roar not giving much thought to a late or slow pedestrian. It's probably safer just stepping into the moving traffic, like they're used to.
In spite of the noise and fumes I know are there, this is a picture so typical of Saigon (all right, HCMC) that it makes me want to go there again.

Hi Marlene,

Ondeed, it seems there are milliions of motorbukes everywhere. In Hanoi, I am afraid of them and wait long on the one side of the street to cross. Excellent composition of this typical scene from Vietnam.

Scene that is common in lots of Asian countries, saw the same in Hong Kong and Shangay, where people also cover their face so not to breath the contaminated air
