Photographer's Note
One of the best ways other than cruising along on comfortable junk is to hop on a Kayak and go exploring. It must be timed to coincide with low tide at Halong Bay so that one can enter the many caverns and explore the hidden lagoons.
I was thinking many times whether should I take my camera along and finally decide to. I wrapped the camera up in a plastic bag with a towel handy and hopped on to the kayak.
This shot was taken as we were going below a pass which would be impassable during high tide. I used the camera built in flash to illuminate slightly the cavern roof. Ahead was two other friends who were with us.

Hello Andre
Excellent framing & the fill in flash worked well here fot the roof. The canoe is very nicely positioned & the rock face on the other side poses a good backdrop. Well done..It's good you took your camera along to show us this picture. Well done!

Hi Ng,
A beautiful place. It look like paddling out from some giant's mouth. I like the overall brown tones and feeling of tranquility.
Flash brought just enough light to the roof. This just could be a little bit sharper. I guess use of polarizer made the exposure time just a bit too long.

Hello André
A view rarely seen,from the inside.
And not an easy shot,lots of contrast between the inside and the outside,a moving kayak,so the need of a fast speed and a choice to make between an overexpose outside and an underexpose inside,I like the choice you made.
Have a good WE

This one has a very good value, depite technicaly its difficult to get the proper exposure.. I think you have got a good average to catch this fantastic place that the bay d'Halong is.
A good photo for a nice activity and a place that make me think to the "nids d'hirondelles".;
Compliments
Jean Michel
