Photographer's Note
I woke up early the next morning on the junk hoping to catch the morning sunrise and not knowing actually what to expect. The haze was still around. I was told that it was not actually a haze but actually some fog/mist that is pretty normal here as this was transition time between Summer and Autumn. I could not see any sunrise because of this.
This shot was taken at the same angle as my earlier post entitled "Night aboard junk at Halong Bay". The junks have changed direction because of the tide movements. The boat vendors are also up early to catch their first customers for the day.

Hello Ng! I like your shot very much, the composition is very good with the boats well distributed in the scene. I feel that the contrast could be adjusted to make the boats stand out a little better, so I have tried a workshop for you. I hope you don't mind.

Very good shot rendering very well the very early morning atmosphere. I personally prefer the original version than the workshop since, in my mind at least, it carries better this morning atmosphere and silence.
Be back soon with greenies.

Hello André
I know how frustrating it can be t get up real early to catch the sunrise, and it never comes. It makes the one we get that more valuable.
Navertheless, the mist gives an erie mood to this composition, softening the edges and the contrast,
by diffusing the light.
Well done and a pleasure to look at.

Very exotic photo....I'll bet you were happy that you woke up early after seeing the results of this.
Very clean "blue channel" here....the channel that usually gives digital the most trouble during this time of day. Good PP.
Great Job.

you have the blue morning light and its tranquil atmosphere captured here, the junks littered around the bay add to the overall composition

9M2NCL, This is 9W6XYZ.
Guess by now, the 400D will never get to rest for much. I see 5&9 in your work here NCL. Good gradation coming from your new rig. I especially liked the cold blue steel surface with its soft ripplings coming from the Junks.

That's really good - the haze emphasises the morning atmosphere & makes for a great image.

Hello Andre
Beautiful atmosphere of mist & shadows...the junks appear beautifully with the backdrop of the mounds. It's worthwhile waking up early to get such a scen. Well done

This is one of the most atmospheric shots I've seen of this much photographed location. The mist is just excellent.

hi,
despite the-not-so-bright haze day, you managed to capture a vividly detailed image that even the reflections are seen well.
wonderfully composed..the BG islets give the depth. the WS is as amazing as the original.
