Photographer's Note
I decided to uploaded a late morning shot of Halong Bay. As part of the tour package to Halong Bay, there is a visit to a number of caves among the many islands there. This shot was taken at one of the viewpoints at the Sang Sot cave. In the picture you can see two junks approaching with their sails erected. The sails are just for show as all junks are motor powered.

Beautiful. I love the landscape in this part of the world. Looks quite hazy, so maybe the image is a little dark, but not so bad. The red boats is a good contrast with the water. Overall, its a nice scene. I wonder what it would look like if you cropped the right side of the image (probably not a better image, but maybe worth a try). TFS.

ive always wanted to see this place. i only seen it in the movies 'indochine' and my dreams. you got it perfect since you have the traditional boats included in the pic. i would just increase the contrast to clean it up a bit.

Hi Andre,
Oh you got the latest jewel from Canon ! Do you like it ?
The place is awesome and I like very much the overlooking comprehensive pov of your photo, it's amazing to see how smooth the water is seen from there it looks like a long exposure shot but it is not, I'd expect something more luminous considering you mention late morning but possibly there was haze ? Anyway the fact it's a little dark allows the red sails to contrast strongly and as a whole I like this photo.
Have a nice day,
JEan-Yves

There are many uploads of Halong Bay, but another as good is this is always welcome. This is the first I see with the 400D, colours are very rich and natural. I like the smooth water and the contrasting red sails of the junk.

Another nice exotic shot from Vietnam. I like your version slightly better than the workshop, but I'm not into the gimmicks too much...that's just me.
As for yours, just a little oversaturated on the roofs of the boats to the left (not much)...a small thing and easily modified.
Great Job.

The boats colors very vivid in the dark green water created a nice combination. If the sky was blue and not grey the results should be much more beautiful, but as the wheater is not under our control, you got the very best results in this situation. Great work. Regards, Jaed.

Howdy Ng,
Magical Halong Bay scene with the large red sail junk cruising the huge ocean monoliths. Special view to me because my California coastal areas would never have this exotic scenery.
thanks for sharing,
Cheers,
