Photographer's Note
My previous posting entitled 'Late Morning at Halong Bay' drew comments about the bright sails of the tourist junk. This prompted me to upload a closer view of the junk.
Most of the tourist junks would have at least 8 twin sharing rooms with or without air-conditioning. The remote control to the air condition will only be given to you at night. Each of the rooms is also equipt with its own private bathroom and guess what even a HOT Shower is available. Sitting on the top deck of the junk is very relaxing especially after a meal. One could also decide to spend the night on the top deck, weather permitting. There was no worries about mosquito bites when I was there.

Hello Andre,
very well captured and nicely framed clear shot of the junks. The pov is very good and the diagonal perspective is great. Very good lighting and very nice and well saturated colours. I enjoyed a lot this boat trip too when I was there last year. Nice capture!
Tfs and best wishes.

Hi André,
A night on a junk in Ha Long Bay, a very beautiful experience that I made in 2005.
Wonderful orange bright sails.
Wonderful green water, all the charm of Ha Long Bay.

Excellent shot with great colors and sharpness. The pov is good, it gives a feeling that you were peeking out of the jungle looking at the boat. The orange sails and the greenish water gives this picture a nice contrast.

Hi Andre,
Good composition with excellent sharpness. I like these vivid colors very much - and the natural frame from the tree on the right.
Conrats and TFS!

Nothing beats a well defined subject, in a setting which not only promotes the main subject but by itself, just as interesting but not in a competitive way. You have that recipe here Andre. Simple but effective.

Hello!
Great picture, fantastic atmosphere, calm and distinct. I like the contrast between green sorroundings and orange sails of the ship.
Good job. Regards,
Jarek.

Hi Andre,
Although this is not your usual 'junks in Halong Bay' scenic shot, it is very interesting to see a close up of these vessels, and your photograph is technically excellent. I have mixed memories of spending a night on a junk (a much smaller one) in Halong Bay a few years ago. Drifting under a moonlit sky amongst all the limestone karst islands was an experience of a lifetime - but I got terrible food poisoning from the dinner that was served on board, so spent the night throwing up over the side :(
(I suspect it was the water)
Cheers . . . David
