Photographer's Note
this was taken in a village around sapa, vietnam.
i didnt want to crop out any portion of the photograph because the portion of the hut is as important as the sile here. it gives an idea of how small the windows here are. some of you might not feel the same
the face of this woman is not she sharpest. this is because the focus was set on the right part of the frame. i was talking to some people outside this house when this woman just peeped out of the window for a moment. i quickly composed this photograph , but had no time to shift the focus to the left part of the frame.
this has been taken with a 17-35 mm lens

Nicely Captured image here Sohrab. The vertical slats add interest to the overall image, with the bonus of a diagonal placed towards the bottom. Next time try using the unsharp filter, within PS, to rectify the focussing issue you mention here.

Great compo, just a pity the point of focus isn't a bit closer to us, but who am I to complain.

Lovely shot Sohrab;
Very nicely composed. The face in the wall almost looks like a photograph or something.
Cheers!

Focus doesn't matter here...it's a beautiful smile and a well composed frame still.

and i think you did right sohrab to refuse the cropping habbit:-) lol i read your note and understand better the context for the lack of sharpness.. You are excused my friend... this is definitely a AAA pic with a great sense of compo ( a std for you!) and great tonalities... more please...

Your reflexes are lighting quick, that much can be gathered from pictures like this. It's a gem of a photo-- need not say anything about the focus, except maybe never forget good old manual focus when there isn't enough time to set the AF correctly...

Too bad about the focus, but wow what a great capture! Great framing (in every sense) and the earth tones are great in adding to the atmosphere of the shot. Nice work man.

Great shot! I love the composition, texture, and smiley face!i wouldn't worry too much about the softer focus. It happens. A great shot regardless!

A great adventure shot, very happy and very well captured. Timing is perfect and you did a very good job with the position of the hole in the frame. Very well done.

Sohrab
Excellent composition and colors. Although you had to respond quickly - I think it still very well captured.

it's a great picture sohrab. Quickly done but still very well framed. I do not mind so much the softness of the face. In fact, a sharp one would probably give a different mood to the picture. The softness conveys an idea of a very quick and short appearance
regards, michel.

Very good composition. The picture would have been much better if you had got the focus on the woman's face. Good that you didn't crop out the image as it gives us a good idea of the size of the window. Your note is informative.

You are correct in what you say about the focus. The image is a very good compostion and does grab your attention. If the focus had been sharp this would have been a great picture.
