Photographer's Note
Geoffroy's spider monkey also known as the black-handed spider monkey, is a species of spider monkey, from Central America and Southern Mexico. Their arms are very long and tail can support the entire weight of the monkey and is used as an extra limb. Spider monkeys eat mostly ripe fruit. As a result of habitat loss, hunting and capture for the pet trade, black-handed spider monkey is considered to be endangered species.

Hi Kari
I took a few shots of monkeys in the forests atop the high Atlas mountains in north Morocco but hesitated in posting them the other day. I am glad you did not hesitate because the wildlife is just as definitive of a region as the vegetation and landscape. Tfs!

Hello Kari,
I have very limited experience of taking photos high up in trees in the jungle, but so far I found it difficult to get good, well exposed photos. So you should be proud of this. We are well informed about its long arms and how it uses its tail as an extra limb. But what's wrong with people who want a pet spider monkey?
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Kari,
I feel so sad when I read about animals under threat from man’s activities,
Would that people followed this example and just captured the animals on photographs!
You have done well with this photograph, gaining excellent details of this monkey and its long limbs. It looks to be high above you and moving at speed yet the image is clear.
My warm regards,
Bev😊

Hi Kari,
The branches are framing well the animal. The point of view is showing the details of the Geoffroy's spider monkey. The light is enhancing the beauty of the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Kari,
Wonderful capture of this monkey, a specie with a special name, as it was hanging between branches stretches his hands to collect fruits.
managed well the subdued light.
Have a nice new day,
