Working Break, a photo from San Jose, West

Photographer's Note

We were driving in Costa Rica and I saw this man taking a break with a younger man and had to stop to ask if I could take a picture. They were very friendly and happy to let me.

Technical: channel mix and gradient map for black and white conversion. Grain added. curve and levels for contrast. some toning using a curves layer.

Ahh... blurry, don't like that. But the picture is just so good.

Beautiful. The focus is on the hands to emphasize the working man's hand. Great portrait of a working man.

You missed the focus here. If the hand is out of focus too like the rest, I would have liked it better. The object and the composition is interesting though.

Hands here is the true subject of this photograph which points out to me the social photographs of the depression of 1929. great work
