Photographer's Note
Taken later than I normally like to shoot, it was 7:50 am. Where I am the sun comes over the mountain at 6ish and that is the golden hour time. The harsh overhead abuses what I find the most interesting about wave riding, muscle tone & body language, so I don't even shoot past 9am. Extended, my lens is at f/6.3 and I back it away from full a quarter turn to avoid some softness. I actually meant to send the next shot to this posting. It showed the surfer was in trouble, but the auto focus was somewhat better.

Hi Ron,
Welcome to TE,
i am not sure how you have had nearly 100 views and no comments. wellframed shot the surfers cente of frame gives enough of the wave either side for the view to see how the wave is developing. nice spray off the top of the curling wave.
a couple of points, the surfer could have been a touch sharper and loose the writing across your shot as it spoils your work. if needs be put in a frame around the outside of the shot. chris
