This was taken somewhere in downtown Havana. It's a typical Cuban urban scene... Cuba has an excellent health and education system, but run down buildings and infrastructure is evident all over the country.

I think this is a very good piece of photojournalism, Josh. What's interesting besides the details on those run-down buildings, is the little signs of individuality of the people who still live inside, like the laundry on the balconies. This almost looks like a black&white shot, but I'm glad you kept the faded colors. One idea might be to crop away a bit from the left; I find that balcony a little distracting. Very well seen!

Your title works good with the photo, you show that run down very well. I saw the movie "Buena vista social club", also have a few CDs, and it's good to know that even in such conditions one can live happy and satisfacted with him/herself and the world.
