Photographer's Note
‘Tervuren - Bluebellgium’
Usually it is Beverley who shows photos of bluebells in spring.
This year I have some pictures of bluebells in Belgium, in other words Bluebellgium.
In our country the place that is best known for this is the Hallerbos, a forest close to the town of Halle, just west of Brussels.
This forest makes the news every spring so that crowds of visitors go there.
So I decided to take a look at the forest closest to me, namely in Tervuren. I've shown autumn photos of this place before.
And there too I found the bluebells, however only in a small part of the forest.
In Belgium the bluebells are called ‘forest hyacinths’ (‘boshyacinthen’ or ‘jacinthes des bois’).

Bonsoir Paul,
L'étendue de la foręt crée de la profondeur. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des arbres et des fleurs. La lumičre fait ressortir les couleurs. Bonne soirée.

Hello Paul,
As usual it is hard to pick an absolute favourite among these photos, because each one has its special feature that separates it from the others. I guess the old half rotten log, probably providing a perfect home to useful insects, makes this a winner, even though with a small margin. They are all very pretty photos reminding me to some extent of my childhood in the countryside where I saw a lot more wild flowers than I usually come across here in the city. And I knew the (Swedish) names of all of them, now long forgotten.
Best regards,
Gert

Hallo Paul,

Ha! Ha! Paul, you beat me to it!
I was only suggesting to my husband that it is time for us to visit Bluebell Wood! There always seem to be so many other things that get in the way!
This is beautiful!
I like how you have used the decaying log. It not only leads our eyes into the frame but, also, reminds us of the importance of leaving wood to decay, as it makes important habits for insects and fungi.
The sunlight is lovely, giving wonderful contrasts of light and shadows.
It was a hard decision whether to choose this or your first w/s as the best but ... because of the log, I think I agree with you!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Bonsoir Paul,
A clever pun on the name combining bluebell with Belgium. God colour, sharpness and lighting contrasts. The diagonal log is well placed and adds dynamism. Tfs!

Hi Paul,
Yes indeed, it usually comes from the UK. IN fact I always miss the moment so I have never managed to capture the abundance of the blue bells. I thought it is unique to England :)
You have surprised me with this blue carpet here.
Beautiful natural scene. Great idea for the title as well,
M

Hello Paul.
How beautiful the three compositions of the forest, ideal that bluish carpet of flowers, I think I know this wild flower although I don't know its name in Spain, I love that vertical alignment so straight of the tree trunks.
Great color that brings out the details of the image, the sharpness is excellent and the lighting is splendid.
Very good work. I like very much.
You have a good day. Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Paul, the sunlight really brings out the shades of green and the intense blue of the bluebells.
You have used the rotting log as a good leading line to the rest of the scene.
I like the balance of the composition with the vertical trunks of the trees in the upper third.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Paul,
I like the pun in the title of your photo. :-) This is a nice scene from the forest, and I like the inclusion of the log. At this time of the year it's hard to resist photographing nature, and all the colorful flowers. I hope all is well with you. Take care!
