A picture taken this morning in my garden, very soft, but not good for later!
The name a Flemish "Paardebloem" but a English I don't know!

Who can help my?

This photo I have cropped to a better composition.

Morgen John,
De naam is Dandelion, Ik vind je paardenbloem, mooi. Maar het mooiste van deze is de achtergrond. Het is net of deze is geschilderd, door de horizontale en verticale streepjes, Ja John ik vind hem mooi, goed gedaan

My dictionary say's "Dandelion" and in danish its called "Maelke-boette" (Milk-pot direct translation to english)

I seams yours Paardebloem earlier the ours - very fine capture John - great DOF and sharpness.

According to the following website, http://www.wildmanstevebrill.com/Plants.Folder/Dandelion.html, it is called a 'dandelion seed head'. The website offers a drawing and a an actual color pic. Like the macro but wish you had a dandelion flower also in the pic.

Amusante cette photo..
La macro est bien réussie et cette fleur se détache parfaitement du fond nettement flou.
C'est bien d'avoir cadré en ne centrant pas la fleur.
Continuez John, ça marche pour les macros...

Great closeup of this dandelion, John. Looking at it, I am already starting to inhale in order to blow towards my monitor ;-) You did well capturing the center of the flower sharply, and the fluffy edges a bit softer. I also like the off-center positioning.

Le nom français est Pissenlit (ŕ cause de ses vertues diurétiques) mais il est également appelé Dent-de-Lion (Lion tooth in english) ŕ cause de la forme crantée de ses feuilles (commestibles). Est ce ŕ l'origine du nom anglais ? Je n'en sais rien mais c'est fort probable.

La photo est bonne, bien que trčs classique. Par contre il y a un problčme lié ŕ sa retouche. Je pense qu'elle a été sauvegardée avec une forte compression jpeg une premičre fois avant d'ętre retravaillée pour lui appliquer un filtre d'accentuation qui a fait ressortir les artifacts de compression.
Attention au jpeg, ŕ chaque sauvegarde il dégrade un peu plus l'image. Il faut utiliser un format non destructif (comme le TIF ou PSD) entre deux scéances de retouche et n'utiliser le jpeg que pour publier la photo.
