Biketrip to this Castle 22 km of my home.

Molenbrug English Mill Bridge

From Burg to Langestraat. Naming, since 1305, refers to the height of the Casselberg leading to the Molenbrug where originally a mill stood at the Vuldersreitje.
One of Bruges' oldest and most important traffic routes, probably part of the Roman road route Oudenburg-Aardenburg. Traditionally important street with residential residential function east of administrative and religious center (see Burg).
Large buildings with gardens reaching to the Groenerei with, among other things, gazebos, garden pavilions or backhouses on the banks of the rei. Smaller parcels between Mee- and Peerdenstraat result of allotment between 1170 and 1183 with the objective to use the area as a residential area. Important residential area with citizen houses continued in the 19th century, see mansions with plastered and painted frame facades. Various functions such as catering, residential and trade functions, the latter used in the 19th century, lead to successive renovations from the ground floor to shop front.

Hello John,
Maybe the nicest part of this photo is the view of he bridge and beyond it, but the buildings on the sides provide very good frames. The light was perfect for photography and the water has created very nice reflections. I like the slight distortions caused by the tiny ripples on the surface mainly towards the left corner. It is as always a marvellously sharp and clear photo.

Hello John,

I like the glass like reflection of the building in the water that resembles an impressionist painting. Good sharpness, colour and framing. The bridge at top right is well placed at the vanishing point with the bg steeple enhancing the depth even more. Tfs!

The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The length of the canal is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings and of the bridge. The light is making the colours to stand out. Have a nice day.

Dag John,
Interessant die die straatnamen die naar vroeger verwijzen terwijl datgene waar ze naar verwijzen al lang niet meer bestaat. Een mooi voorbeeld hier in Haarlem zijn o.a. de Friese Varkenmarkt en de Hooimarkt. Helaas niet zo fotogeniek als deze molenbrug.

Wat een prachtig dag en een heel mooi punt in de stad waar verschillende grachten samenkomen. De compositie laat een mooie mix zien van bomen, statige panden, het bruggetje en de kerktoren in de verte. Het zonlicht geeft een prettige gloed aan dit alles en de spiegelingen zijn ook schitterend.
