Belfry Tower, a photo from West-Vlaanderen, Flanders

Photographer's Note

I am again in this luxurious situation that I have plenty of photos which I would like to show and cannot decide which one to choose first. I have only three photos from Belgium in my TrekEarth collection so I decided to go back to my photos from Bruges. This is the first view of the Belfry Tower, which I have experienced. It was a very impressive spot, the light was bright and colors so vivid. There were many people around, but no crowds. Horse carriages were passing by and boats filled with tourists were circulating on the channel below. I am sure John must have showed this place already although I dont recall seeing it here before.

Je me souviens trčs bien de cette belle rue, męme si cela fait déjŕ un moment que j'ai visité Bruges, une ville magnifique sous tous les angles. Un cadrage vertical trčs bien fait.

Hello Mariusz, a good daily life shot from Bruges.
The fine sunny weather enhances the view, and I like that we see a fellow photographer getting a shot of the Belfry Tower.

A great view down the street with its beautiful façades at left, which are lit by a perfect sunlight. The curve in the street adds dynamism and leads the eye nicely towards the amazing and impressive belfry. Very well done.

The famous Belfry we mostly see on John's and Paul's pictures, so that's how I know it... from TE, Mariusz.
Good view from the narrow street and up, enliven and brightly shine with distinct details on the scene.

Hello Mariusz,

It is unusual to see a scene from Bruges without evidence of canals.
This is a very nicely observed scene, the curved road acting as a gently guide, first to join the pedestrians, then on to the sights of the buildings before finishing at a strong point!
The whole scene makes us feel we are participating in a leisurely exploration of Bruges.
The buildings would cause interest and comment, whilst the strongly placed tower would definitely cause us to stop, and observe!

Hello Mariusz, a belfry exists also in Lille. The tower dominates the quarter, it has a clock. Nice sample of Flemish architecture, locals and tourists enliven the street. Fine colors, good image quality and excellent depth, regards.

You was in the "Wollestraat" and looking to the belfry and market place.

Bonjour Mariusz,

Bruges looks like a lovely town to visit and makes a fine North Sea coast version of Venice. But here we see a flag-stoned street rather than a canal. Good sharpness and perspective and the bg tower provides a good focal point. Tfs!

it is ever nice when we visit a place with a blue sky. I can recognize this tower from john images. anyway the angle and these details probably will be different. nice view.
