RECREATION CREEK

Today again a hot day with 35 ° Celsius, this morning in the cooler period I took my electric bike, to take some pictures of the children in this area, 44 km back and forth together, but a slight wind caused some cooling.
These children are at sailing camp in the Boerekreek and are having fun.

At the end of 1999, Bloso sports centre De Boerekreek was taken over by the provincial government of East Flanders to ensure the survival of the sports and rural centre and to develop it into a center for active recreation with emphasis on sport (water and equestrian sports), nature-based education, social and child-friendly tourism and accommodation.
The provincial government of East Flanders built new infrastructure and accommodation there.

Hello John,
I used to love this kind of heat, but now I can no longer stand it. I could probably not go 44 km in 35 °C even with an electric bike. You are lucky to still make it, so you can return with nice photos like this of children enjoying their summer vacations with these small boats. The children make the photo lively and the sails provide colours. As usual a nicely exposed and sharp photo.

Hello John,

The 2 colorful sailboats at right provide a vibrant splash of color and contrast well with the traditional white sailed boats at left. Good sharpness & the red tipped sails at far right are worth a photo on their own. Tfs!

Hello John, a lovely composition using the rule of thirds. The children and their boats make an excellent focal point, but equally I like the blue sky with the beautiful clouds.
A good idea to be close to the water for some cooler air.

You have captured well the action of the children praticing sailing. The length of the canal is cretaing depth. The point of view is showing the details of the small sailboats. Have a nice day.

Een mooie zomerfoto met al deze klein zeilbootjes op het water, omgeven door een mooi groen landschap, hoewel het gras op de voorgrond door alle droogte er hier ook wel dor uitziet. De wolkenlucht is ook schitterend.

Hello John, Everywhere in Europe the heat wave. On such a day it is better just to stay home, it is usually cooler. Even with the electric bike, it is still the effort to go 44 km. But you were rewarded with a nice picture of these kids learning how to sail. Charming composition. fine colours and excellent sharpness as always.

yes I enjoy this one. try to imagine this one without the clouds, it just wouldn't be the same. the clouds really do make the scene. smart idea to keep the sky to about 3/4 and the tree line 1/4. beautiful scene, lovely light and colours, and just an overall great view. cheers

It is an effective image with the sweep of the curve carrying the eye to many children and their 'mini sailboats" Beautifully composed scenic creek with good range of tones, colour and contrast to the blue sky.

You are amazing, travelling 44km in such heat! I'm afraid I opt for the shade when it is so hot!
This is a lovely scene, full of colour and vitality. How pleasing to see children learning such active skills, rather than sitting at home on games machines!
I like how you have emphasised the outdoors by giving the vast, blue sky such a precedence. There is a wonderful sense of freedom.

The creek lives up to its name with all these optimists enjoying a warm summer's day on it. Had you not translated the name of the creek, I would have thought of the delicious Turkish (and Greek) pastries (= börek). 👍

Hallo John, that pond is used as a recreational area by a holidays camp. The children are learning how to sail with small boats. They can have fun and beat the heat in summer. Great view of the polder landscape. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.
