Lapscheure a village on 8 km of the Belgian coast
This afternoon my bike trip along the canal for shadow, I saw this rural image took this picture, almost a meadow without grass through the drought, still no rain in one month on this place
History.
About a thousand years ago the village was called Lapiscura; in the 12th century it was Lappescura. In the 13th century: Lapscura; in the 14th and 15th centuries: Laepscure, also Laepscuere; in the 16th century: Laepschuere, and since the 17th century: Lapscheure. The name refers to a barn belonging to a farmer called Laepe. In the year 1110 Balderik, bishop of Tournai, donated to the abbey of St.-Quinten in Vermandiën, the patronage of the church of Oostkerke, together with the chapels of Lappescure, Moerkerke, Wulpen in the island of Cadzand and Waescapelle.
History.
The first mention of the village can be found in a letter from the period 1019 - 1030 from the abbot of the Ghent Sint-Pietersabdij. Lapscheure became a parish around 1200 and in 1240 a church was built, dedicated to Saint Christianus, on the site where a chapel or auxiliary church had previously stood. During the 80-year war, the Sluisse rebels crossed the dikes of the Zwin in 1583, destroying the church and village. This created creeks, the most famous of which is the Lapscheurse Gat. This creek forms the border between Belgium and the Netherlands. Until 1830, surface water flowed into the creek along the Blue Sluis (1746) and on to the Zwin
I hope you like it

Hallo John,
De recente hittegolf is goed te zien aan het gelige gras. De compositie is uitstekend dankzij het groepje bomen aan de linkerkant van de foto en de kudde koeien daarnaast. Aantrekkelijk zonlicht ook.

Hallo John, that flat land is dedicated to cattle farming. The brown bull in the middle is really strong and beautiful, i d like to see it closer. These animals seem to be reared for their meat. There are some isolated trees but most of this plain is occupied by pastures and fields. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello John,
The note is missing, but it doesn't really bother me. A scenery like this speaks for itself. The trees are well placed and will provide some shade to the cows in case they need to rest. Right now they were busy grazing in the large field. After a long hot summer the grass is already turning yellow. I like the light and the peaceful atmosphere.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi John,
The cows are an eye-catcher. The point of view is showing the details of the trees and of the fields. The light has a good effect on the colours. Have a nice day.

Hi John
An idyllic pastoral scene worth your stop for a few shots. The grazing cattle really grabs the eyes under subtle clarity with the viewpoint stretches to the distant. Love how the trees actually hooks the eye as an anchor point, and contrast to blue sky is just right. Great camera skill in catching this spectacle. Congrats
Best regards

Hi John, a very pleasing image. No signs of modernity could put this at any age. The colours of the cattle reflecting the colours of the land around them.

Hello John,
A relaxing bucolic scene.
The trees are strongly positioned in your composition and the grazing cows sublimely create the sense of calm.
The clarity and the colours are excellent.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hello John,
This scene of meadow without grass will be a thing of the past for the cows.
Now we have rain and more coming days. The question will be how much rain. Enough to make it green again. Enough to make the farmer to grow crops for their livestock.
What about us? The ground water is getting very low. I heard that it has to rain constantly everyday to become at the normal level.
Once again, it's like a weather forecast picture. Dry and more dry day to come.
Thanks for sharing.
Loong
