Virgin Mary Church

The bell-tower of the Virgin Mary Church.

The church is built in the fore part of the Old Town, some hundred steps away from the ruins of one of the four gates of the Ancient Acropolis, leading to the Stadium. The church had been destroyed and reconstructed many times. In 1844-1845 the church was once more demolished and a new one was erected in its place.

Hello George. It makes me happy that you were also in the beautiful city Plovdiv. Unfortunately I did not have time to regard to me everything. Therefore I do not know also the church. But in the Internet I read that it the Hl. Mother of God - church is. Your photo pleases me very well. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Γιώργο καλημέρα,
πολυ καλη η αποτύπωση αυτής της εκκλησίας της Βουλγαρίας,με τα ζωηρά χρώματα και το λαμπρό φως.Δεν ξέρω γιατί, αλλά ο ουρανός στο δικό μου μόνιτορ δείχνει νε έχει κόκκο,παράξενο λόγω του ότι η φωτογραφία έχει τραβηχθεί την ημέρα.

Hi George,
Good angle from a good POV, with a magnificent perspective of the belfry towards a blue very attractive sky and with a blue vivid color, saturated well.
Good capture of architecture, you have chosen an excellent vertical setting.

A beautifully shot in vertical composition. Clear, sharp, with beautiful textures and a fine assortment of details. Colors are all pretty too. Thanks for sharing, and sorry for not knowing anything about this particular church. I can tell you it`s a place of worship if it helps. :>

You were in Plovdiv three just days before me!!
Nice photo from a good POV, but I can still feel some redundant yellow in the clouds and the buildings. But that's not that important here!
