Postcard from Trogir, a photo from Splitsko-Dalmatinska, Coast

Photographer's Note

There is so much to see along the Croatian coast, that I had to make really tough choices. Although passing very near Trogir, a UNESCO world heritage site, I didnt plan to visit it. Fortunately or not due to the thunderstorms in the north of the country on this day I had to cancel my trip to Plitvice National Park, at the same time the weather was great near Trogir, so here you are: I can share this wonderful view from the Kamerlengo Castle in the Trogir old town.
The old town of Trogir is beautiful but the streets are narrow and it is hard to capture its beauty being in the middle of it. These castle ruins appear not that impressive from outside and many tourists probably dont get that far, but the view is amazing. The view is in fact much better than this picture implies, but I cut it a bit since with a too wide view the details are lost, also the other direction offers amazing view which I may present on another occasion.

Hello Mariusz,
Wow, what a great view, it makes me want to go there immediately. The brightly orange roofs of the city interspersed with some church towers, the row of palm trees, the people quietly strolling along the water and the boats, and the majestic mountains in the background, it all looks so beautiful and inviting under a great sunlight. Well captured!

If you didn't say "postcard" in the title I would have mentioned it. ;-) This is really a very good general view of the waterfront and old town of Trogir with beautiful churches, the iconic red roofs of this part of the world, palms, boats, a wide pedestrian street, water, mountains - you name it. It's such a beautiful place and a very good photo.

Pogoda plata czasem figla podczas podrozy i na to nie mamy wplywu, ale mozna za to zmienic plany. Trogiru w ubieglym roku nie odwiedzilem, chociaz bylem niedaleko. Mozna po tych miastach chodzic godzinami i chlonac historie sprzed wiekow. Dobry kadr, przyznam ze lubie tez te gdzie w skrocie nawet niewielkie teleobiektywu te zabytki sa na tle nieodleglych gor.
Zachecony odwiedzenie T. pozdrawiam

Witaj Mariusz, Podobalo mi sie to zdjęcie na FB i tu tez jestem zachwycona. Fantastycznie to wygląda. Morze szmaragdowe i bez jednej zmarszczki, wszystkie budynki w jednym stylu, podobne wieże, białe ściany, czerwone dachy. Śliczna palmowa aleja i te maleńkie ludziki. Super. Byłam tez w Trogirze "jako dziecko". Dotarłam wtedy do Kotoru i juz dalej na południe nie jechałam.

Taken this from a high and well chosen perspective, that allowed a good allocation overr thr pic. space.
Red roof-tiles coontrast superbly with the blue-bay, and the people stroll along the promenade gave excellent scale, vivid tone and motion to the whole.

Awwwww wow look at those colours in the water. How could you resist not diving into that??? I love the way the characteristic red roofs contrast with the white tones and of course the acqua tones of the sea. Really impressive depth of field and sharpness here, this image is flawless.

I am breaking my TE silence to applaud your latest posts.
I love this long view of promenade..indeed one of the main attractions of this small town. We can see the bridge which we used to go to the other island & on the left the old town. Actually we never got up this castle & hence missed this awesome view. Crisp & crystal clear which is the Mariusz trademark!

I see many photos of new of your trip to the Balkans, you have covered more countries, I just girded me to Croatia, this view from the castle of Trogir is fabulous here very well appreciated, the great charm of this beautiful town.

Hello Mariusz,
A promenade where it is pleasant stroll between the row of palmtrees at one side and the yachts on the other side.
Several towers rise beautifully above the red roofs.
Your visit of the Kamerlengo Castle ensured you of an amazing sight, not only ot the town but also over the sea as far as the mountain range far away.
Living in a country where the coastline is flat, I've always been stunned by mountains that close to the sea.
