Spanish Hall, a photo from Kralovehradecky, Bohemia

Photographer's Note

The representative Spanish Hall in the Nachod castle was arranged by the Italian nobleman Ottavio Piccolomini, the owner of the castle in the years 1634 - 1656. The castle remained the property of his family for 140 years.
The hall is decorated with late Baroque, partly gilded stucco decorations and a huge ceiling painting depicting Ottavio Piccolomini and his war successes.

Je n'imagine pas le peintre en train de réaliser cette fresque accroché au plafond comme une mouche.
Cette peinture joliment encadrée avec une partie débordante est étonnante.

A great photo of this painting on the ceiling. It looks remarkable because of the small piece in the bottom right hand corner which seems to fall out of the frame. Good sharpness and clarity.

I am not a great admirer of the Baroque, but I would like to make an exception for this ceiling painting. The image is nicely sharp and painted with humour, and by partly leaving the scene outside the frame, the attractiveness is increased even more.

Zdjecie w miniaturce wyglada tajemniczo, a po otwarciu widac piekne szczegoly architektoniczne. W barokowych wnetrzach trudno czasem zadecydowac, gdzie skierowac obiektyw.

Ryszard, that hall ceiling is decorated with a splendid painting. It depicts the nobleman in the clouds surrounded by people with weapons and angels. Nice details of the castle. Fine colors, good image quality, regards.
