Photographer's Note

The photo is of Fruering Church, a small rural church in Mid-Jutland.
Of the original church, from the middle of the 12th century, only the long sides of the Romanesque nave and remnants of the triumphal arch are left.

Today it stands as a late Romanesque church after a renovation in the 13th century. The nave is then extended to the west, and the church gets its major choir and apse, this will later be torn down. The east side of the chancel is built of limestone from the old choir, while the rest of the choir is set in large bricks.

The tower to the west is added in the latter half of the 15th century.
