The Courtyard, a photo from Kobenhavn, East

Photographer's Note

We didn't have a lot of time in Copenhagen, and unfortunately it was raining most of the time. That didn't stop us from wandering around, but it made the views a bit less spectacular. This shot stood out for me as a nice look into a courtyard during a period of a bit more sunshine.

An interesting POV, well seen.
I am not shure about the white letterboxes tough? Maybe you could have cropped them out.
Furthermore, I have allowed myself a little workshop, increasing the contrast and taking some of the highlights back. Check it out, I hope you don't mind?

Ce décor est tellement beau qu'on dirait une mise en scčne. J'aime particuličrement les couleurs orangées des murs. Un petit peu de végétation balance bien le tout. Pour ma part, j'aime bien les boîtes aux lettres.

Hello Andrew,
nice the scenery with the narrow alley of the courtyard,the warm light and the painting of the walls to make the shot even more effective.
The bicycle as stand near the wall, lead-in the eye in the interior and on the window of the backdrop.

I really like this, its such a tranquil image with great colour. I have no idea why, but I think this would make a really beautiful placemat!

Old bicycles always add a touch of romance to historic backyards and dead ends and this one fulfills the role of watchdog at the entrance of a colorful recess seasoned of greenery and exposed by the rules book.

i love this shot, andrew ~ it's so danish.

even without a caption, i would know in a second where it was taken... the orange tones, the postboxes, the stones, and the bicycle, it's all so familiar (i am half danish.)

many thanks for this wonderfully evocative photo, at least for me, a sensory delight :)
