Photographer's Note

I afraid that changes in our local environment too often remain undocumented. Here's the site of extension of Hervanta shopping centre. Maybe not important in global sense but larger malls are also a global trend.
Architects of the original center in the background were Raili and Reima Pietilä, like of so many public buildings in Tampere in 70's and 80's.

There was no way to get any tones to sky in this light. Hopefully it doesn't look so bad blended with the frame.

Hi Kari
A very interesting shot, to capture a growing trend and one characteristic of globalisation.
If you wanted to get greater tones in the composition the way around this problem is to shoot from a different angle keeping the sun behind you, use some filters (polarizer or neutral density) and shoot at a different time of day when the quality of light changes. This all helps to contribute to a better lighting effect. Overall, your shot is very infomative and well composed. Good picture.

Nicely composed, good colours and details... Myself I'd probably increase contrast a tad...

I share your idea Kari, the photo recording the sliding of the events, even the sky is not good remaining of the photo goes very well, compliments.

Yep agree with the note, these shopping centers and area grab always more of our rural space as the consuming fever from accross the ocean invades our lifes, so it's a good work presenting this tendency. I gather from your conversation with Aubrey you've personnally been shopping too, what did you get ?
