Photographer's Note

First post of the new year, is a remembrance of my last year treks, I have been saving one or two for the dark winters night ahead.

This capture was taken on the Kaysersberg bridge over the Weiss river , I believe it shows a 16th century guard post that is now used as a display for local produce , it is unusual by the fact that it was built in the center of the bridge. The link, although in French has some good 360° panoramas of this Alsace wine village ( click the Badhus for this bridge)

Image taken in both colour and B&W but I much prefer this as I am experimenting with filters and a BDM 2x green was used for this capture.

Very nice, sharp, and there is just the right amount of sky in this photo. Did you actually put a green filter at the front of your lens? I've been experimenting with getting the same b&w effect as a filter by separating out the RGB colour channels from a colour photo instead of doing a straight colour to b&w conversion. Example at :

Very nice one Roland. I like the way the fluffy white clouds contrast with the darker shade of the sky. It has a very clean and crisp look. The guardhouse is interesting in the middle of a bridge...also the steep rooflines on the left and the hillside on the right balance the composition.

An excellent B&W shot Roland - You could write 1904 on the picture and get away with it. I like the soft sky (thanks NI) and the different stone structures.

Nice image. I love the contrast between sky and clouds, almost as strong as you would get with a red filter. Well made.

I like very much the dégragés of tones and the sweetness of the image. Beautiful composition. Good shot!
