Photographer's Note
Baume-les-Messieurs, Jura, France. "Village au fond de la vallee, Comme egare, presqu'ignore." If you have ever heard this song or it's equivalent song in English THE THREE BELLS" (LES TROIS CLOCHES) you have been hearing about this tiny village at the bottom of this valley, Baume-les-Messieurs. In the village you can also visit the grave of the man who is the main character of that song, Jean-Francois Nicot. The main attraction of this valley however is the Abbey. It is said that Monks were active in this area in the 4th Century. The Abbey of St Peter was consecrated in 909 by the Benedictines but was disbanded by the newly formed Republic in 1792. It is now privately owned. I came upon this older couple just sitting an a bench contemplating the village and activity below. I loved the way their bodies and position on that bench framed the Abbey beautifully.

Hi Raymond, just beautiful, a moving picture... Very well compossed, nice colours, I love the white hair of the man shining, and his coat balancing with the woman's hat, but the whole scene overall, here the technique is not the subject, congrats! chau chau,
Maria

This image creates a very nice perspective, in many ways, some abstract and some obvious. I may have chosen to crop slightly in the sky, but it is executed very well.
Thanks

Hello Raymond. Is that a romantic photo? Perhaps. It is a declaration of love somehow to a time, when the people were elgant dressed. And then the view of the pair into the lovely landscape. The light is ideal for this motive. It increases the value of this beautiful picture. For me it is and descriptive, calm and worth seeing picture. In addition an informative Text. Outstanding. Best regards, Wolfgang.

le rayon de soleil sur les cheveux blancs est royal.

I can definitely see why they sit on this bench, the view is sensational!!! This looks like a scene out of a beautiful storybook. TFS
