Okay I know this place has been taken in pictures like a billion times, but I still like it: I went there only once, and I loved what I saw. Even though it's the most touristic place in France (before the Eiffel tower), I think everyone should visit it. Architecture details are fascinating, and if you have a sharp eye, you'll be able to see the differences between the distinct phases of construction -the Abbaye is a wonderful Gothic church, and the cloister is a stunning place full of elegance. Don't hesitate to take the full guided tour (included in the ticket price), you'll learn and see lots of things you wouldn't have paid attention to if you visited the Abbaye by yourself. Oh, in case you didn't recognize it: it's the Mont Saint-Michel, 50kms east from Saint-Malo (Bretagne), France.
