Photographer's Note
On an historic day for history and really for people to remember this view is of the a single unknown soilder at the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach Normandy and has the mind numbing total of 9,387 burials of US service men and women. Of this number, some 307 are unknowns, three are Medal of Honor winners there are 33 pairs of brothers buried side by side
and is just a small part of 172 acre site!!
Words really fail to describe what it is like just walking around here, it to me some time to come to terms with my visit a truly harrowing but restful place
So please spare a thought for the fallen , whos deeds have made the world what it is today

Every grave marks a life lost.
Every grave marks a mother and a father who lost a child.
This grave shows that a mother and father never knew what happened to their child.
