Photographer's Note
This is the last one on these odd birds, I promise!
They can be aggressive sometimes... another good reason to come back to other subjects. I still think they are very photogenic, though!

"He or She"?... this one is a female. A bit smaller than the male, and with grey feathers on the body, while male has black feathers. Both have grey necks and grey legs.

Composition, framing and sharpness are really perfect!
I love the way "he/she" (?) is looking at us with something close to arrogance... I can keep looking at it and keep smiling! ;o)
(I'm trying the "Do Not Display Points" option for a while. It's a really great system, but I can't give points anymore. So I want you to know this one would have earned the full TWO points!!!)

Perfect title for perfect shot..even the turning neck adds to the effect of seeing a mechanical device with dual lens :-)

JM, they are absolutely photogenic, arrogant and inqusitive - you must catch them with backlighting, so that all the "hair" in the neck and head is backlit - something I am still trying to do myelf. He reminds me of the chief of the Normen in Asterix - check-out his "mouth"

Hey, "it" seems disdainful of the photographer, I like the way it looks at you. Framing, composition, DOF are all good- like your title too. Well Done.......

Just came across this picture 'by accident'. Nice portrait, Jean Michel. Excellent details, beautiful blurry background, and a very original title too. TFS.

hi Jean Michel
The photo is hilarious and the framing is perfect to accentuate the characteristics of the bird, ie. the long neck. Very atypical and creative shot!
