Circles of Light, a photo from Haute-Normandie, North

Photographer's Note

Last in a short series of pictures taken at a Winter Fun Fair in Rouen in November 1991. All were taken on slide film and have recently been scanned and converted to digital.

The pictures were captured at night time. I have to admit that I have never really got the hang of night time photography so I hope you will bear with me technical wise :-) I should add that all pictures were taken hand held using whatever means of support was available.

Hi Stephen, (evil chuckle) another one for my Funfair Theme. I like the half-cropping here. It's obvious what it is but, it makes it almost abstract, And the light trails are wonderful. Great job here, thanks for sharing and I hope your weekend was good too. We had our TE Meeting firstly at the pub and then onto Cockatoo Island by ferry. It was a fabulous day. Dynamic exposure absolutely, also is these picture 18, year old, exactly a picture of yesterday.
This is not easy use a scanning picture, you did very well.
Composition and presentation are very nice for look at.

Excellent outcome of this fair, you say that the picture dates from 1991.
I think it's wonderful, the image have not suffered at all time.

Hi Stephen,
Splendid upward perspective.
Gives good idea of the dimension of this
structure. I believe it is one of the attractions.
The light effects are very intresting. More like
science fiction. A giant tube for time travel.

Another fine shot from your series of pictures taken at the fun fair. You have captured the wheel in motion very well indeed. The clarity of the image has not deteriorated since the day it was taken. In fact I consider this to be quite a 'retro' snap viewing it today. Good work.
