Photographer's Note

Scene of street in Ivry on the Seine in the Parisian suburb.
In this group of buildings built in the 1970s by the architect Jean Renaudie, I surprised this picture. White, black, color a vision which I liked of this suburb.

Jean Renaudie is a very interesting urbanistic architect who especially built social housing. He opposed to the construction of dehumanized complexes.
In the center of Ivry which he reconstructed with Renée Gailhoustet between 1970 and 1975 then between 1978 and 1983, apartments are all different and possess one or several terraces. He was one of only architect in France which demonstrated that the social housing could be of quality.
The Centre Pompidou dedicated him an exhibition in 2004.
