Photographer's Note

City of Roses"

Gerberoy is a member of the Association " Les Plus Beaux Villages de France" and is one of the gems of the "Oise", situated in the middle of a triangle between Beauvais, Rouen and Amiens. Dominating the surrounding countryside at an altitude of 188 meters, the village received a Town Charter, with certain privileges, from King Philippe Auguste in 1202.
It was besieged several times between 1079 and 1437, looted and razed to the ground, but rebuilt in a way that preserved its character.
The Town
In spring and summer the fronts of the houses along the cobbled streets are covered with climbing roses making Gerberoy a garden in itself.
The 17th and 18th century houses, in brick and flint or half timbered, give the town a special quality which is enhanced by its history.

C'est vrai, Gerberoy est un d'un des beaux villages de Picardie ! L'été, il y a beaucoup de visiteurs dans le village, mais on voit les roses trémičres en fleurs !
Il rčgne ici une trčs belle lumičre !

I love the way the greenery, not only roses, mixed up with anciant houses (the completely not straight roof is a precious thing) in a perfect symbiosis and harmony. The atmosphere in here is magnific and I also love those two passing by. It remind me the touristic and poetic village of Sintra, 20kms from were I live. Fantastic colours and lighting. Strange meeting. Both the man and the woman are looking at the ground and it looks like the want avoid to see each others. And there was so much more interesting to see on the right respectively left side, for the façade is old and lovely.

J'aime beaucoup cette petite vue champętre.Je comprends pourquoi ce village est un des plus beaux de France. Quant ŕ ton image je trouve que les détails sont trčs nets et que les couleurs sont bien rendues. En ce qui concerne la lumičre, c'est parfait aussi !

Une belle composition de ce agréable village. elle a trčs bonne définition et quelques belles couleurs, avec les rosiers s'élevant sur les murs. La voie dans la diagonale dans le cadrage, avec les deux personnes le marchant , elle attire le regard. J'aime beaucoup comment les briques sont détaillées dans le portail et les tuiles dans les toits.

A delightful photo of a beautiful old building and two contrasting people passing each other on the rustic path in this village. The light and colour are wonderful and the definition is very good without being too sharp. One wonders if the two people are speaking to each other, if they know each other.

par hasard j'ai vu cette photo. Je connais cette petite village. Mon grand-pčre habite ŕ quelques minutes de lŕ (La Chapelle-sous-Gerberoy). Il y a déjŕ quelques années que j'ai visité cette village magnifique, mais j'ai l'intention de le refaire cette année. Belle photo !

Je reconnais que le voyage ŕ lintérieur de votre galerie est un plaisir tout en finesse, un lent cheminement dun promeneur solitaire qui ma permis de découvrir des endroits que jignorais,..
Cest curieux votre façon de prendre vos images Une sorte de lent rapport fusionnel et de méditation avec votre appareil, comme si avant den appuyer sur lobturateur et fait le tour du sujet, vous en aviez déjŕ composé le cadre et la lumičre.
Je me permets de marręter sur celle-ci, cest une des rares comprenant des éléments humains Cette scčne un peu décalée de rencontres sans se voir.
