I spent as a sailor in the French Navy 8 months (February - October 1972) in this place. Taken at sunset, just before we removed the flag.

Wonderful capture. Your timing was perfect. The flag flying and the light seeping through the clouds make for a dramatic effect.

Exceptionally well-managed scan. (at least I hope I'm not mistaken :-) Very nice colors and lights. You have been a sailor so worth it :-)
France is big and strong :-)

Hello Claude,
The silhouettes with the colours of the flaf blowing in the wind against the dramatic sky create a special atmosphere, and probably nostalgia for you. The mast and its lines adds the finishing touch. Well done.
