Other sight.

The Saint-Blaise bridge of the 13th century crosses the Aveyron river, at foot of Najac village, one of the most beautiful villages of France.

Aveyron is a river which takes its source on causse of Séverac-the-Castle in the department of Aveyron and is thrown after 292 km of course, in the Tarn between Lafrançaise and Villemade in Tarn-et-Garonne.

Since the 12th 13th centuries, the village, a borough castral, extends along a ridge above a bend in the Aveyron river, at the bottom of castle which ensured the defense of the valley.

Najac is a french commune, located in the department of Aveyron of the Midday-Pyrenees area, populated of 744 Najacois in 1999, distributed out of 54 km², that is to say 14 hab./km².

The village and its famous castle overhang the gorges of Aveyron from its left bank.

Najac, one of the Most beautiful Villages of France, is also classified like Pays of Art and History.

In 1252, to thwart the town of Najac, seat of the seneschalsy of Rouergue remained too faithful to the county of Toulouse after the takeover of Capétiens, Alphonse of Poitiers decided to create to few kilometers, a new city, to fix at it the seat of his administration, and frank, i.e. equipped with tax exemptions, which broke the prosperity and the influence of Najac, from where the name of Villefranche-de-Rouergue given to this bastide, in french, distant of 16 kilometers.
