Photographer's Note

Today, there were many protests with hundreds of thousands of protesters, taking place throughout France.

People were protesting the government's passing a law to create a new type of work contract, the first hire contract (Contract Premiere Embauche)

This type of contract would allow an employer to hire people under 26 years of age with a probation period of two years and the ability to fire them without an excuse.

Of course this represents a shocking change to the french ideal of employment for life embodied by the sought out CDI (Indeterminate Duration Contract) whoch makes it very difficult for an employer to lay off employees.

There are many concerns both from both an economic and a human perspective.

To all French Trekearthers: The comments that I will give to the photos during the following days reflect my point of view as a foreigner living in France. WHile I know that my point of view may not be very popular in France, I do not mean any harm by exposing it and it is my point of view. Please feel free to comment on my photos and provide some counter-arguements in english as to allow others to learn about the situation in France.
