Lake Clarée Névache, Hautes-Alpes.

Arrival at Lake Clarée, where all begins! This is where Clarée rises, fueled by a snowfield. At 2433 meters, crystal clear waters are a nice reward. Surprise when arriving, many walkers chose to picnic here, and the most accessible bank was "overcrowded" (there was indeed fifty people or more)! A well-placed rock allowed me to hide the "crowd" while enjoying the lake.

After a short break, we continued our path to the threshold of Rochilles. At 2459 meters, the Rochilles threshold marks the border between the Hautes-Alpes and Savoie. In earlier times, it was therefore a border between the Kingdom of France and the Sardinian States. Marker No. 92, installed in 1814, materializes the border. The Fleur de lys is engraved French side and the Savoy cross Sardinian side.
