3 generations difference, a photo from Aquitaine, West

Photographer's Note

My hard disc (10 giga) is full, so I have to save it on an additive memory, and I found this old picture.
I remember being in a room where old persons were seated, and their parents coming to see them. It's the opportunity to show the babies to the elders. I like the backlight illuminating their profiles. I guess that there is at least 75 years difference between them!

1976 Kodakrome slide scanned and tranfered in sepia.

What a wonderful surprise to find in your archives!

A beautiful photograph of a very emotional and touching moment, very well captured and very well scanned from a Kodachrome colour slide. Your subsequent processing has been very sympathetic too and the conversion to sepia toning has been done very subtly and nicely indeed.

Kodachrome slides really do seem to maintain their quality for a long period of time - I have posted some from 1970 and I know that Gert (holmertz) and Gunnar (saxo042) have posted some even older than that.

I love "archive" images. This is a lovely example, with the joy and happiness of grandma very obvious. I agree about the backlighting. The lens on the old Spotmatic doesn't look too sharp, but this creates a slightly misty, nostalgic feeling, in keeping with the image. I think I might have cropped a small amount off the bottom of the frame... Good find!
