Photographer's Note
Indeed Didi, August is the best part of the year to visit Paris. Parisian people are on holiday, not so much tourist.
So, I have the whole Louvre for myself and can test my tripod in various night conditions. Isn't life great ?
So, here you can see a part of the Louvre with the small glass pyramids set in the 80's. You also can notice the big wheel on the horizon. I hadn't a hammer for it, so I just tried to turn the light a bit yellower...
And if you just wonder what the pyramids look like during the day, just have a look here. .

I've never seen it like that. Good you've left such a large surface of the esplanade. It enhances completely the buildings. The wheel? Dommage. But, sure there are lot's of other possibilities for a photographer here... lucky man!

Once again Steven, this is just great. The definition on the building is tremendous, as it the play of the lights.

Nice and sharp, as usual with your shots. Love the sky with this purple color, it does enhance the building, and there is no exageration in the saturation like sometimes we beginners tend to do.

The palais as well as the pyramid and the caroussel of Tuileries are very quite exposed. Very well framing, it is more than perfect, the central part of the Louvre passes by a strategic line, which gives to the building its majestic aspect. In the same way for the base of the pyramid. On the other hand, it is not a hammer which it is necessary for the wheel, but "a bazooka"; it seems to me that with 1 second of pause the high lights would have been less strong. In a similar case you should not take risks, it is necessary to photograph 3 tests with different exposures.

Steven, great night shot. This would have been a great place to use the Nikon wide angle. The lighting on of the Louvre is what I like the most about the picture.

Bravo!
